Welcome to DomeHome Canada

The interest in unconventional homes is very high due to many factors. The high
cost of conventional homes is driving some to look at attractive alternatives. We
have seen homes made from a variety of materials, some interesting and some so abstract
as to question sanity of the builder. Depending on location there are homes build
from STRAW, RAMMED EARTH, TIRES, SHORT LOGS, BOTTLES ETC. However the most practical
and most efficient as well as the longest life home is the properly constructed
underground home. Made from poured concrete life expectance is in excess on 1000
years and coupled with efficiency and low maintenance these homes have a large following.
The demographics of interest are in our favor since the younger people have through
education a greater degree of understanding of energy conservation and environmental
factors. They are in tune with everything that is available in an underground home.
Also it appears that they are able to think out side of the box in most cases. We invite you to read further about our unique project.

September 26/2007 Update
I had several contractors requesting the contract and when chosen one showed up his staff pulled a hissy fit and performed theatrics that upset me to no end. They claimed that they could not spray foam on any earth and if they did they would use double the amount. They were sent home. I finally contacted K Seal and Mike Richmond examined the job and the crew arrived and did the necessary work, Photos coming. Next step is to back fill. Reason for this work was the foolish advise of main contractor in advising the use of foam sheets and as we found out this did not insulate since there was no way to stop the water from arriving on the cement at some point. MY ADVISE TO ALL UNDERGROUND BUILDERS IS USE NOTHING BUT URETHANE FOAM SPRAYED IN PLACE FOR A SEALED BARRIER. Nothing else will work since you must insulate on the outside. Urethane is water tight providing you specify a closed cell foam.
Other work performed was repairing the expensive and useless front door manufactured by FiberTec of Concord Ontario (see photos of leaking snow) and tiling the master shower around the master tub. Tatiana did a fine job.
We changed a bunch of light fixtures as a result of a nesting urge and the nest is now in a more satisfactory condition.
We boxed in some exposed vent pipes in washrooms in master bath and garage then did the drywall on them and looks good as well I installed a fan for center bathroom on stack on roof with motion switch this gives us ventilation with almost no noise. All bathroom fans will be external for same result.
In the past I have complimented Crack Doctor for some fine work in sealing up cracks caused by prime contractor and when we had the earth off the roof and we had some rain we got some water in so I called them again. This time the price was 3 times what we had paid before so I suggest to my readers to get a price in advance to avoid a nasty shock. I found this occurrence to be most unprofessional especially since in the four previous visits the total of that work did not exceed the price of this visit alone. The work was quality but the price was very nasty and did not reflect the work performed. Three hours of work for $1200.00 is a total ripoff if you want my opinion.
So the lessons here are never use foam sheets on an underground house, Get a price in advance if you need crack repaired and do not consider FiberTec Doors if you require warranty, it does not exist. Royce/Tatiana

EZflow Canada
EZflow introduces a new way to do an old job: lightweight and easy to use, EZflow drainage systems require none of the gravel normally used in applications such as foundation drains, septic systems, roof run-off drains, interceptor drains and others. The EZflow system is environmentally friendly, cost effective geosynthetic aggregate, approved for use in Ontario.
